BMW ISTA+ 4.61.40 is a complete 2026 BMW diagnostic, programming and coding software bundle combining ISTA with PSdZData Full 4.61.41 and an additional E-Sys coding package.

Instead of providing only ISTA diagnostic software, this package combines tools for several BMW workshop workflows: vehicle diagnostics and guided troubleshooting with ISTA, programming data with Full PSdZData, and advanced coding with E-Sys.

It is designed for independent workshops, BMW specialists, retrofit technicians and experienced users who want one downloadable package for diagnostics, service, programming and coding.

The release information shown in ISTA specifically documents new maintenance content for BMW i3 (NA0), BMW X5 (G65), G65 with B57 engine and additional service information for vehicles with Mobility Set SA2VD. The Check Control documentation also describes automatic test-plan calculation from a selected Check Control message. These points are consistent with currently published 4.61.40 release information.

PSdZData Full 4.61.41

The bundle includes Full PSdZData 4.61.41 for supported programming and flashing workflows.

Full PSdZData provides the larger programming dataset used for operations such as:

• ECU programming
• ECU software operations
• Supported ECU flashing
• Module replacement procedures
• Vehicle software updates where supported
• Advanced workshop programming

Full PSdZData is primarily relevant to programming. It is not normally required simply to read fault codes or perform standard ISTA diagnostics.

E-Sys 3.30.1 Coding Package

The second major part of this bundle is E-Sys 3.30.1 with E-Sys Launcher Pro 2.8.1, Token Generator and PSdZData Lite 4.61.41.

E-Sys is intended for BMW coding and configuration workflows and complements ISTA rather than replacing it. E-Sys 3.30.1 with Launcher Pro 2.8.1 remains a combination discussed and used in BMW coding communities.

The included E-Sys package can be used for compatible coding workflows such as vehicle configuration, FDL coding and retrofit-related configuration.

Coding capability depends on chassis, ECU generation and software compatibility.

Full vs Lite PSdZData Included

This package includes both Full and Lite PSdZData 4.61.41.

PSdZData Full 4.61.41 is intended for supported programming and flashing workflows where firmware/programming data is required.

PSdZData Lite 4.61.41 provides the smaller dataset useful for compatible E-Sys coding workflows.

Keeping both datasets gives users flexibility between diagnostic/programming work and coding environments. Current 4.61.41 data is documented in both Full and Lite variants.

Compatible Diagnostic Interfaces

Depending on vehicle generation and intended operation, common interfaces include:

• K+DCAN
• ENET
• BMW ICOM A2
• BMW ICOM NEXT

K+DCAN is primarily associated with older compatible BMW vehicles, while ENET is commonly used with F/G/I platforms. ICOM is the preferred professional interface for broader ISTA workshop use and supported programming environments.

ISTA can be installed on the Windows system drive or another SSD with sufficient free space. Temporary installation files may still require available space on C:.

This product is delivered digitally. No physical DVD, USB drive, cable or diagnostic interface will be shipped.

Installation instructions and a video installation guide are included.

Optional paid remote installation service is available upon request.
